A guided tour of Manila brings you to the well-selected historical landmarks and interesting parts of the city Rizal Park, the country’s premier park and the site of many important events in the country’s history; Intramuros, the Spanish colonial city. Its historical landmarks include Fort Santiago, the old Spanish military headquarters; San Agustin Church, the oldest stone church in the city which has a museum of religious and secular art; Barrio San Luis, a complex of reconstructed period houses depicting the Filipino lifestyles of the 19th century. This walking tour takes you first through Fort Santiago which served as the headquarters of the military might of the Spanish, Americans and Japanese colonizers until its destruction in 1945. The tour then proceeds past the Manila Cathedral, a magnificent feat with its intricate stone carving, stained glass mosaics and rosette windows.

At 640 meters ASL, the ridges of Tagaytay provides the most stunning view of the world’s smallest active volcano resting in the midst of Taal Lake. Also visit, Peoples Park in the Sky, you will have gratifying clear 360 degrees view of the three provinces south of Metro Manila from the mountains and lakes to the bay. This tour takes you to the vast countryside southwards, passing through rice fields & coconut plantations until you reach the old town of Pagsanjan. Two and a half-hours South of Manila is the quaint and historic Villa Escudero set amidst a pastoral grove of coconut palms, verdant fields and mountains to bring one back to the days of the old plantation life. Highlights of the tour are a museum of historic, religious, pre-Hispanic and World War 2 artifacts. Carabao-drawn carts transport guest to a man waterfalls where lunch is served on the table set over a flowing stream.

1. AYALA GREENFIELDS GOLF CLUB

This championship 18-hole course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. boasts of receiptive fairway winds, a slightly downhill and generous landing area, challenging deep hillsides and ravines, a staggering set of bunfers, a mix of stately mango trees and towering coconut pals, a gentle valley with panoramic lush hillsides, big and small greens, a series of polls and falls, a steep mountain slope and a natural exposed rock ravine, an extremely elevated terrace teeing area and all weather grass to match the elements. It also features breathtaking view of Laguna de Bay, the Tagaytay Ridge and the Mount Makiling mountain range.

2. CANLUBANG GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB

Canlubang Golf & Country Club was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. It has 36 holes which consist of wide, undulating fairways lined with coconut trees. There are man-made lakes, and even ravines. The North course is a championship course measuring 6,872 yards, whilst the South course is shorter. Watch out for occasional wind.

Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club is a 72-hole golf and leisure club deseigned by a famours professional golfer like Greg Norman, Nick Faldo, Isao Aoki and the well renoweded golf course architect Andy Dye. With four championship courses, Eagle Ridge has the largest golfing facility in the country at the moment that features a golf course to suit all skill levels and playing preferences.

The club has 36 holes playable. The NICKLAUS COURSE which is 1,000 feet above sea level measures 6,695 yards from the blue tee. The course rating of 72.8 indicates the possible difficulties for the average golfer.Rolling terrain on the front nine and moderate hilly on the back nine. There are wide and narrow fairways, framed by thick vegetation, water hazards, ravines and sand traps. 8. SPLENDIDO GOLF CLUB

The GREG NORMAN designed course on a hilly terrain was opened in 2002. Like most modern Golf Courses, contoured Tifdward are on the greens while Evergreen covers the fairways.

The Par 69 18 hole golf course was designed to live and breathe through its natural beauty; it embodies rolling hills, sparkling lakes, mature foliage and towering pine trees a composition designed by Jack Nicklaus’ Golden Bear International. Luisita Golf Club – Tarlac City, Northern Luzon

One of the finest 18-hole, par-72 championship courses in Central Luzon and for that matter in the country. This layout designed By Robert Trent Jones, Sr. has hosted top events like the President’s Cup and other golf spectacles of the country. The principal and interesting feature of Luisita is water. Eleven of its 18 holes have well placed water hazard, the most awesome of which is hole 17. With at certain season is also a factor. Its fine greens are mixed in Tifton and local Bermuda grass, fairly flat.

At 500 feet above sea level, golfers will enjoy the breath taking view of Mactan, Bohol and the bay. Rolling terrain, narrow fairways, strong winds and the water hazards will challenge the golfers. The 5,864 yards, par 72, 18 hole course was designed by Gary Player. The course rating is 69.4 with a slope rating of 126. Soft spikes required.

Fairways and Blue Water (BORACAY) – Caticlan, Visayas

This Graham Marsh designed 18 hole golf course offers the golfer a different look on every hole he plays (no two holes are the same). The front nine and the back nine have totally different characters that would make you think you are playing on two different courses. The front side has a flat terrain with a lot of water hazards on it. On the other hand, the back nine is hilly with less hazards. The golf course has relatively average sized greens and fairways. The wind usually plays a big factor because it is usually stronger compared to the average courses.

The modern clubhouse has all the amenities plus the Buccaneer Grill and Swashbuckler’s Bar. One tee house each for the front and back nine. There is also a Family Clubhouse overlooking a beautiful cove to cater to the non-golfers.
